Our #BloodyBrilliant uni squads
-
Edinburgh
Our largest and longest standing BBUS. This amazing group of volunteers regularly organise blood drives with sports clubs and societies, attend univesity talks and lectures, as well as arrange fundraising events such as pub quizzes (and much more!).
-
Glasgow
Our BBUS in Glasgow work closely with the student and sports unions to encourage students to give blood. The team work closely with Scotblood to organise on-campus blood drives, in addition to arranging talks to raise awareness more broadly.
-
Aberdeen
Our Aberdeen BBUS work closely with Scotblood to organise an on-campus blood drive each semester. They also work with sports clubs and societies throughout the academic year to organise fundraisers and speak with students about the importance of giving blood.
-
Stirling
Our Stirling BBUS is one of our newer squads, set up in September 2024. In just one year, they’ve organised on-campus blood drives with Scotblood, set up stalls at their library to engage students in conversation about blood donation, and organised awareness events inline with awareness days such as Random Acts of Kindness Day.
-
Dundee
Our Dundee BBUS is our newest team, set up at the beginning of 2025. They’ve already organised a range of blood drives with sports clubs and societies, and have exciting plans for the next academic year.

In 2024, we worked with the University of Manchester Swimming and Water Polo Club to organise a blood drive, resulting in the club winning the Social Responsibility Award at their annual sports awards celebration
-
We collaborate with university groups, such as LGBTQ+ socieities
For example in 2024, we joined forces with We Are Donors Sheffield and Sheffield SU LGBTQ+ Society to organise blood drives and impactful awareness events
-
We support individual sports club blood drives
Regularly collaborate with sports clubs across the country to organise blood drives and engage a new generation of students in blood donation
